Trung Nguyen

Howdy 👋! I'm Trung Nguyen, a Computer Science PhD student at UT Austin and a member of the Computational Visualization Center. I develop mathematical and computational methods for molecular simulation.

My current research focuses on transition path sampling: generating trajectories that describe how molecules move between conformations. I study how to make these methods efficient while ensuring that the generated paths are faithful to the underlying physics.

I enjoy exploring different corners of science and writing scientific software. My earlier research spans language-model interpretability, active learning, optimal transport, and 3D computer vision.
